With special guest Teacher, Gen Tharpa.
This meditation event will focus on traditional ritual practices performed for those who have died. This is called Powa practice or “transference of consciousness”.
The practice of Powa is a method whereby we can transfer the consciousness of those who have recently died, or our own consciousness, to a pure land. Powa practice explains clearly how we can face our own death, and how we can help those who are dying. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others.
Everyone is welcome.
Gen Tharpa is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and a senior teacher of the New Kadampa Tradition who has been teaching Modern Buddhism in Spain, Portugal and England for over 30 years. He has great ability to convey Buddha’s teachings on death from his own experience and to inspire people to use this profound knowledge.
