Here are some common questions that people ask about our meditation classes. If you have any other questions please contact us and we will be happy to help you in anyway.

A: We run many meditation classes & courses. General Programme Classes take place on Mondays, Wednesdays & Sundays. Over the weekend we run Workshops, Retreats & Special Events (eg. Public Talks & Workshop with Guest Teachers from other Kadampa Centres in UK or abroad).

B: We have Special Study Programmes to go deeper: Foundation Programme & Teacher Training Programme.

A: No. We try to present Buddha’s teachings in a way that is accessible to everyone.

  • Pre-book the class/course as we host a limited number.
  • Everyone to wear a mask during the class.
  • Arrive in good time for the class as some extra details need to be checked, so your registration might take a little longer than usual.
  • To increase safety levels we will measure everyone’s temperature on entry.
  • To avoid cross contamination please bring your own water.
  • Card payments only for the time being.
  • While on the premises please remain 1m + with a mask from others who are not part of your household or 2m from anyone without a mask.
  • Sadly at this time we are asking you please not to hug any of your friends or staff at the Centre.
  • Please do not attend the centre if you or anyone in your family has had symptoms of Covid 19 within the last 14 days.
  • Please do not attend if you have been in contact with anyone who is self isolating with symptoms of Covid 19 within the last 14 days.

A: No. Everyone is welcome, including beginners.

A: Either is fine; it really depends on your own circumstances and preference. Weekly classes are shorter and the groups are smaller, whereas weekend events attract larger audiences and take place over a whole day or more.

A: All our classes are designed to be simple yet profound, so that every class provides something for everyone.

A: The general programme classes begin with a relaxation meditation. Then there will be a talk covering the basics of meditation and mindfulness techniques, emphasizing how these can be applied to our daily life. Finally, there is a second meditation based on the talk, and to conclude there is a time for questions-and-answers and discussion with light refreshments and an opportunity to get to know people informally. Meditation CD’s and Buddhist’s books will be on sale for further reading.

A: No. But you can ask questions to the teachers at the end of the class if you want to.

A: No. The courses focus on meditation alone.

A: Nothing in particular. However, some people find it useful to take notes, so you can bring a notepad and pen.

 A: There are no special requirements, but comfortable clothing is generally best.

A: No. Each class is self-contained. You can drop in whenever you can, and start whenever you like.
