About the course

The many benefits of meditation and mindfulness, which include anxiety and stress relief, are now commonly recognized. However, it is not always easy to start meditating on your own. In this 5 week course, ideal for beginners, you will understand how to meditate and what you need to do to make your meditation successful.

You will be given practical Buddhist advice and guided in meditations beyond just breathing meditation, that will enable you to gain confidence to meditate on your own.

You will learn:

  • The meaning of meditation
  • How to start meditating
  • How to feel happy

The teacher

Gen Kelsang LekmaGen Lekma is the Resident Teacher at KMC Southampton. She is a senior Buddhist nun with more than 25 years of teaching and meditation experience and she has taught in England and the United States for much of this time. Her clear, profound and entertaining talks express the path of wisdom and meditation in a way that is ideally suited for people of the modern world. She is greatly cherished by her students for her warm, light and wise example.
