Protect your Mind and Empower your Practice
The foundation of Buddhist meditation is to seek happiness within the mind. This belief is what will cause our practice to become strong and constant. In order to strengthen this belief, we engage in a practice of refuge.
In this practice, we consider many lines of reasoning that help us to seek lasting peace & protection from within our mind, through receiving the blessings of enlightened beings and the support of sangha. These three are called the three jewels and it through seeking refuge in these objects that we find ultimate protection.
This retreat is one that is included within the schedule of retreats in the Teacher Training Programme. However, everyone is welcome to join in and discover the peace, insight, and protection that comes from discovering real refuge.
The retreat sessions will include a brief teaching from Gen Lekma, chanted prayers (from Essence of Good Fortune), and quiet time to contemplate and meditate on the refuge verse.
